Bravo Instructor Handbook
How to become a Bravo Teacher
1. Complete the Full Registration.
2. Once you are accepted to Bravo, we’ll email you our Independent Contractor Agreement for you to sign. This legally allows you to teach Bravo students.
3. Now you are ready to contact and teach Bravo music students!
4. We conduct a background check after you begin teaching your first student. There is a fee of approximately $25-35 (depending on your state), which is deducted from your first paycheck.
Contacting a Bravo Student to set up lessons - the online prompts make it easy!
1. Apply for a student through your Teacher account to receive student contact information.
2. Call the student immediately. Be professional when speaking to students or parents.
3. Use our student-pricing page to quote lesson prices to the student/parent. (Students already know the prices in most cases).
4. Setup a Free Introductory Lesson.
5. After the intro lesson, ask the student if they want to continue lessons. Then arrange a lesson schedule.
6. Every week enter the lessons you’ve given into an Excel spreadsheet provided by Bravo. Students take lessons on a pay-as-you-go basis and are billed at the end of the month.
7. Bravo handles student billing and teacher payment.
8. Important: Instructors are expected to handle all student issues. Though Bravo brings students to you, it is you, the teacher, who develops the relationship with the student. Therefore, it is your responsibility to handle all student issues that arise. You are responsible for setting rules and guidelines with your students, including policies for handling cancellations/make‐up lessons, emergency issues, etc.
Getting Paid
1. We have one of the highest teacher pay rates in the field. Taxes are not withheld.
2. Instructors are paid by email through PayPal twice a month, on the 15th and the last day of the month for the lessons given during the previous month. In the event a student/client doesn’t pay their lesson invoice, Bravo will inform the Instructor to contact the student in question. We can’t cover delinquent student accounts but we will assist you in obtaining or collecting payment.
Exit Policy
As a courtesy to your students and to Bravo, please give at least two weeks notice.
